私自身初めての国際学会での発表の翌日、起きたのは7時20分。この朝は走りませんでした。この朝、ホテルをチェックアウト。この夜から、メルボルン郊外の別のホテルに宿泊することになっていたのです。有名なF1グランプリが、メルボルン南部のアルバートパーク（11日に行ったセントキルダの近く）でこの日から開催されたため、市街のホテルを予約することができなかったのです。

この日は、昼前からの学会に向かう前に、会場近くにあったメルボルン水族館に行きました。見たのはサソリとかクラゲとかヒトデとか、エイとかサメとかカメとか。そして、熱帯魚はやっぱりカラフルできれいでした。遠足（？）で来ている幼稚園生か小学生低学年くらいの子どもたちがいて、ヒトデやエイを見てはしゃいでいるのが、かわいかったです。今思うと、ヒトデは私も触ってみたかったな～。
学会では、フランスの病院で仕事をされている松崎博士と話すことができました。この先生の論文は、これまでにいくつか読んでいましたし、この日の講演もとても興味深いものだったので、どうしても話したかったのです。「結局は、子宮内膜症の発生機序なんて誰も分かってないのよね」という先生の御言葉が、印象に残りました。私は薬学部の大学院で子宮内膜症に関する研究をしているのですが、医学部以外でこの病気を研究している人は他にいないと思うので、頑張ってと励ましてもらってしまいました。
学会のランチ。いっぱい美味しい食べ物が出るので、いつもたくさん食べてしまいます。
この日の学会の後、メルボルン南部にあるHotel Albanyに向かいました。トラムの走る道がとても混んでいて予想外に時間がかかり、学会会場から1時間近くもかかりました。しかも、この日は夜までとても暑かったので、だいぶ疲れてしまいました。ただ、天気には非常に恵まれました。この前の夜までは、昼間晴れていても夜は曇ってしまったのですが、この日は夜まで晴れていたのです。本当に雲一つなく、南半球の星空を初めて見ることができました！！
昼間は緑の美しいこのフォークナーパークで、ずっと星を見ていました。初めて、南十字星を見ることができました。とても形の整った十字。近い将来見たいと思っていたこいつを見ることができて、感動してしまいました。南十字星の近くには、「にせ十字」と呼ばれる星も見えました。「にせ十字」という名前は、これが南十字星よりも大きくて、しかも南十字星が真南を示しているのに対して、こちらは違う方向を向いていることに由来しています。人々が星だけを頼りに海を渡った大航海時代なんかには、星が示す方角がとても重要だったので、このような名前が付けられたのです。
どうしても見たかった星空を見ることができて、とても幸運な一日でした。

I woke up late, 7:20 a.m. this morning. We checked out the hotel because we stayed at another in suburb of the city this night. A major F1 grandprix is held in the Albert Park (South Melbourne) for four days from today, so we couldn't have reserved any hotel in the City Central.
We were present at the World Congress from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and visited the Melbourne Aquarium before the congress. We saw sea dragons, water dragons, tropical fish, eatfish, scorpion, see stars, and many other fish species. We also saw a show of dive feed to sharks, stringrays, and turtles. We had a lot of fun for an hour.
At the congress, we talked with Dr. S. Matsuzaki, who studies in a hospital in France and made an interesting speech as an invited speaker on this day. We also talked with Dr. J. Curto, who comes from Argentine and is the co-presentation of Dr. Augstin, my researcher friend since the previous day. We exchanged our business cards each other. Dr. Augstin said that he will send me an e-mail from Argentine for my English study!
After the congress of this day, we checked in the Hotel Albany located in South Melbourne. The roads on which the tram run were so crowded that we cost about an hour to be transfered from the central of Melbourne to the hotel unexpectedly. Additionally, it was hot until night in this day, so we were tired very much. However, we were lucky with the weather. There was no cloud in the sky until night so that we could see the sky filled in many stars seen in Southern Hemisphere for the first time!
We saw stars in Fawkner Park. We could see the Southern Cross for the first time. The shape of the cross was so decent that I was inpressed to see it. We also saw the "false-cross", which is near the Southern Cross. The origin of the name "false-cross" is that it is larger than the "true" Southern Cross and the "true" cross indicates the direction of south exactly but the "false" dose not. I felt very happy to see the beautiful sky.
