先週（2012年5月14～16日）、パリで開催された国際毒性学会の発生毒性に関する会議、"PPTOXIII" (The 3rd International Conference on Prenatal Programming of Toxicology) に参加し、研究発表を行いました。この国際会議は、「胎児期にさらされる化学物質や栄養などの種々の『環境要因』が、個体の『発生過程に及ぼす毒性（発生毒性）』」をテーマにしたものです。
この学会で最も印象的だったのは、最後のセッションで生命倫理の研究者の講演があったことでした。この講演は、毒性・衛生学研究者が環境要因による発生毒性を“研究”するだけでなく、それを実際に人の生活する社会に活かすためには何を考慮する必要があるかを改めて感じさせられる、大変に有意義なものでした。
今日は、この学会での講演で印象に残った言葉を、参加報告を兼ねて紹介しようと思います。
